Save the Date! Apple’s Big Fall Event Set for September 9

Get ready, Apple fans — the company’s highly anticipated annual fall hardware event is officially scheduled for Tuesday, September 9.
This “special Apple Event” is expected to unveil the next generation of Apple’s flagship products, including the iPhone 17 series and the latest Apple Watch models. The event kicks off at 10 a.m. PT / 1 p.m. ET at Apple Park in Cupertino, and as always, Apple will be livestreaming the presentation on its official website for those tuning in from home.
Apple’s invitations and a teaser tweet from CEO Tim Cook hint at an “awe-dropping” experience. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, this clever wordplay might reference the long-rumored iPhone Air — an ultra-thin, ultra-light version of the iPhone that could take center stage this year.
The iPhone Air Takes the Spotlight
If the rumors are true, the iPhone Air could be the star of the show. Inspired by the MacBook Air’s lightweight design, this model is said to be a slimmer, more portable version of Apple’s signature slab-style phone. While the sleek redesign sounds promising, there could be some trade-offs — including a smaller battery compared to standard models.
Alongside the Air, Apple is expected to introduce the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The Pro models will likely feature enhanced camera systems and, according to leaks, could come in a new orange color option — something Apple may have teased with the orange outline in its event invitation.
What’s New for Apple Watch
Apple is also set to refresh its smartwatch lineup with the Apple Watch Series 11 and the Apple Watch Ultra 3. Last year’s Ultra update was mostly cosmetic, but this time, reports suggest the Ultra 3 could feature notable hardware upgrades and possibly a larger display.
Foldable iPhone Rumors
Another big question is whether Apple will tease its first foldable iPhone. While Samsung and Google have already jumped into foldable tech, Apple has been taking its time. Gurman reports that the device — code-named V68 — is still under development and may debut next year.
Leaked details hint at a tablet-style folding display, four cameras, eSIM support, and a return to Touch ID instead of Face ID, similar to Apple’s iPads.
iOS 26, AI Features & More
Even if you’re not planning to upgrade your device, there’s good news: iOS 26 will reportedly support older models going back to the iPhone 11. Apple is also expected to announce the official release dates for iOS 26, iPadOS 26, and macOS 26 during the event.
