Social network X blocks searches for Taylor Swift after Pornographic Deepfakes

The Social network X, which was previously known as Twitter, is not allowing searches for Taylor Swift, since numerous pornographic images of the singer created by Artificial Intelligence were shared on the platform. These publications have already reached more than 45 million views.
As of last weekend, simply searching for Taylor Swift on X displays an error: “An error occurred. Try reloading the page.” The same goes for a search that includes the terms “Taylor Swift AI” or “AI Taylor Swift”.
It was users, mainly the singer’s fans (who call themselves Swifties), who were the first to notice the search being blocked, and X later confirmed this situation. “This is a temporary measure, taken out of an abundance of caution, as we prioritize safety in this area,” the group said in a statement to The Wall Street Journal. The X account dedicated to security also reacted:
Posting non-consensual nude images is strictly prohibited on X and we have a zero tolerance policy towards this type of content. Our teams are actively working to remove all identified images and take appropriate action against the accounts responsible for posting them. We are closely monitoring the situation to ensure that any future violations are promptly addressed and the content is removed. We are committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all users.
Taylor Swift has not yet officially reacted to this situation
Taylor Swift fans criticized X for allowing countless publications to remain online for long hours. Fans reacted by flooding the hashtags used with the singer’s videos in an attempt to hide the porn deepfakes.
