Microsoft makes Swiftkey available on iPhone and iPad again

Microsoft officially ended support for the SwiftKey app on iOS last October by removing it from the App Store, but it is now back available for iPhone and iPad users as the beloved keyboard has unexpectedly returned to the App Store.

Microsoft’s Caitlin Roulston said SwiftKey has been reintroduced to the App Store based on feedback from iPhone and iPad users, inviting them to visit the support page for more information.

Despite the app’s return to iOS, SwiftKey was last updated on August 11, 2021.

It’s currently unclear if or when the app will be updated again, however, Vishnu Nath, vice president and general manager of OneNote and Microsoft’s Office product group, encouraged fans to stay tuned for what the team has in store. reserved. Pedram Rezaei, CTO of Microsoft’s maps and local services division, also said that the company will invest heavily in its keyboard.
For those who don’t know, SwiftKey became popular on Android, before being released on iOS 8 in 2014, and in 2016, shortly after Microsoft acquired the company that manages it. It is worth noting that, prior to the app’s withdrawal, some iOS users complained of problems logging into their account.
