Balenciaga

Coco Chanel once remarked of Cristóbal Balenciaga Pullover, “He’s the only one of us who’s a true dressmaker. Christian Dior enjoyed philosophizing, saying that Balenciaga was the director of the orchestra and that haute couture was like to an orchestra. The Madrid label was established in 1918 and became successful right away. At the start of the Roaring Twenties, the originator was appointed to design for Queen Mara Cristina Princess Isabel Alfonsa of Spain. The label, which had fled the Spanish Civil War and established itself in France, was suddenly outfitting everyone in post-war Paris. The first haute couture collection was then released in 1936 at 10 Avenue George-V, the location of the designer’s creative studios.
