Woodcrest Small Engine & Saw Repair was originally a “repair only” shop, started by Dave Munie of Highland in the late 90’s. He worked on all makes and models of lawn mowers and saws. Always looking for help, Dave hired 16 year old Shaun Horstmann in the spring of 2008 working after school and through the summer. That lasted about 4 years as Shaun went to Ranken Tech. earning a certificate for automotive maintenance through evening classes. Shaun then worked at a Car dealer for 3 years, still helping Dave part time before trying a security system installer position for a year while Dave downsized the business and only worked out of his home garage. The big change- Late in 2014 Shaun decided he needed to use his skills of small engine repair and approached Dave to discuss what had been only a dream until now. Shaun and Dave came to an agreement that Shaun would buy the business and parts inventory and Dave would also come work for Shaun for 6+ months.
