Electronic Arts (EA) launches its new App for PC

Electronic Arts (EA) has released what is its new application for PC. The application in question has been around for some time, however, it was in open beta, but now the official approval has been given – at least for Windows. This new application thus replaces Origin, and becomes a kind of one-stop shop for all the publisher’s games.

According to Electronic Arts, the new platform is faster, more reliable and more focused on a particularly enjoyable gaming experience. Currently, Origin is still available in parallel, but in the medium term only this new application will be active, making Origin disappear completely.

Features like automatic downloads and background game updates are also included in this new application. In addition, there are links to Steam, Xbox and PlayStation, so you can coordinate your friends’ activities in every aspect.

Those who are currently using Origin will soon receive an invite to switch to EA’s new app, and once they switch to it, all games and content will be migrated. Installations and local scores are also taken. The same applies to cloud saves. Therefore, the movement should be as smooth as possible, as even your friends list will also be transferred.

But what about macOS users?

According to EA, Origin for Mac will initially remain the usual point of contact, and there is no date for the new app to be made available to them.
