Firefox 105.0.3 is now available for download
Mozilla has once again updated its browser, Firefox 105.0.3, which comes to fix an annoying bug that causes frequent crashes for users with computers running Windows, and who use Avast as their security suite.
Users complained that after installing Firefox 105.0.3 on Windows, it crashes regularly without any reason, and even after nothing has been changed on their systems. Mozilla then investigated the situation and discovered that Avast, known for its antivirus, was the “culprit”.
It appears that Avast versions 18.0.1473.0 and earlier are causing Firefox to crash. Mozilla therefore decided to block Avast DLL files using the Firefox DLL block list to avoid blocking.
A similar problem may exist with AVG Antivirus. The latter was purchased in 2016 by Avast. But according to user feedback, these blocks are less common, and with Avast it affects practically all users.
As always, Firefox 105.0.3 is now available for download from the Mozila website. You can also install it if you don’t have Avast/AVG or if you are using any other operating system like macOS and Linux.
