Google renews the YouTube interface on Android TV
Google new update comes with some changes that give its interface a more design-friendly look. Graphical updates include the pill-shaped video title and a description box that can be expanded to view all the details of the video being played.
The new window appears to have replaced the information previously visible in the upper left corner and has been placed just above the playback progress bar to also show the view count, channel name and release date, as well as the non-intrusive video title. that obscures some of the content.
Channel details and additional video controls have been moved to the left side of the YouTube interface on Android TV and Chromecast devices with Google TV.
Scrolling through the player’s progress bar still shows related content, which can clutter the experience, while accessing the like/dislike buttons, channel info, playback speed and quality controls now requires a few more steps.
This updated player interface has been seen on a number of Android TV and Google TV devices, so it is likely to be available to a good number of users and will soon be made widely available.
