Microsoft 365 making some changes to Outlook and OneDrive

Microsoft 365 is Microsoft’s recommended solution for anyone who wants to use their productivity applications, Office, and wants to use cloud storage. For consumers, the cloud-based solution costs €69.99/year for the Personal plan and €99.99/year for the Family subscription.
While Microsoft regularly adds new features to the various services offered under its Microsoft 365 umbrella, it also removes some from time to time. Now, the company has announced some changes, and important limitations, for Microsoft 365.
Microsoft is informing its customers about some changes it is making to Outlook and OneDrive. Therefore, after November 30, 2023, you will not be able to associate new custom email addresses with your Outlook account.
It’s important to understand that existing custom email IDs will continue to work as is for the foreseeable future, but you won’t be able to add new ones. Likewise, if you remove that email ID after the November 30th deadline, you won’t be able to re-add it.
The other modification also involves OneDrive. Basically, Outlook attachments will also count towards OneDrive storage after February 2, 2023. So if your OneDrive capacity is already almost full, you should probably consider deleting some unnecessary content from your storage before that date. However, Microsoft is offering some leeway by providing 50GB of extra storage for a year after February 2nd to ease the transition for its customers.
Changing OneDrive is likely to affect more customers than modifying custom Outlook emails. However, it’s nice that Microsoft has given what appears to be enough time to prepare for the changes before they happen after a few months.
