Google releases last update for Stadia before its closure

Google launched a new update for a Stadia application, and this was the final update. For those who don’t know, the cloud gaming service will close its doors on January 18th.
The proposed update is simply in charge of displaying the message warning users that Stadia will be closed on the next January 18th, and has a link (this one) that redirects to a FAQ where it guides all those who are not aware of this situation.
The shutdown of Stadia faith announced by Google last September. It was a mild surprise at that time, knowing the service was not popular. Despite everything, several players remained hopeful, since Google had revealed, in the summer, that the service would not close… and a few weeks later it returned with the word back.
“A few years ago, we also launched a consumer gaming service, Stadia. And while its approach to consumer game streaming was built on a solid foundation of technology, it hasn’t generated the user interest we had hoped,” admitted Phil Harrison, head of the cloud gaming service. “We’re grateful for the dedicated gamers. of Stadia who have been with us since the beginning,” he added.
At the moment, Google is committed to providing refunds, both for hardware and for games and additional content that were purchased from the Google Store. The group expects most payments to be completed by mid-January 2023.
