Apple to combine modem, WiFi and Bluetooth on the same chip

Apple independently working on a new chip that combines modem, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
Apple currently uses Broadcom chips in its devices to enable WLAN and Bluetooth connections, while for mobile communications, everyone knows that the company uses Qualcomm modems.
For those who don’t remember, a few years ago, there were some disagreements with the latter company, but finally an agreement was reached. Shortly thereafter, Intel’s smartphone modem division was acquired, and for a long time it was suspected that Apple would soon be introducing what would be its own modem.
Now, Mark Gurman, the famous Bloomberg journalist, says he knows that Apple not only has a proprietary modem in the works, but also wants to put WLAN and Bluetooth connections on the same chip. According to him, this chip that will give the company almost complete independence from the apple, will reach the devices as early as 2025.
Apple has already parted ways with Intel with its own SoCs, so it wouldn’t be surprising to try to avoid further technology dependencies. However, so far nothing has been confirmed by the company, so we’ll have to wait and see what happens, as for now it’s just speculation.
