Intel i9-13900KS Officially Announced: The first processor to reach 6GHz

Intel today announced the i9-13900KS, which is nothing more than its latest, and most powerful, processor and which is the first to pass the 6GHz mark without overclocking. As the name might suggest, this new processor is an evolution of the i9-13900K currently on the market.
The Intel i9-13900KS is the first processor to reach 6GHz without overclocking. It utilizes Intel Thermal Velocity Boost technology to achieve this milestone and improve PC gaming performance.
And as you might expect, there is an increase in energy consumption. While the 13900K can consume up to 125W, this new KS model consumes 150W. In fact, it can consume up to 250W when the chip is loaded at 100%.
Aside from the jump to 6GHz without overclocking and the increased consumption, the Intel i9-13900KS is more than similar to the standard model. Intel still offers 24 cores (eight performance cores and 16 efficient cores), 32 threads, 36 MB of cache (Intel Super Cache) and 20 PCIe lanes (16 PCIe 5 and four PCIe 4).
To use it, you will need a Z690 or Z970 motherboard with a BIOS updated to the latest version. The price of this Intel i9-13900KS is US$ 699, with availability starting today.
