Apple expected to announce new variant of iPhone 14 this week

In recent years, Apple has been breaking its tradition of launching new iPhones only in September by introducing new variants in early spring. And the latest news suggests that the tech giant is now set to launch an iPhone 14 in yellow color.

According to sources, a briefing is expected to take place soon at Apple Park, and the arrival of an iPhone 14 in yellow (and also the 14 Plus) is likely, given that phone production has been evolving in China recently. Apple had previously used yellow in the iPhone 11 launched in 2019 and as one of the default colors in the iPhone XR from 2018. The return of this color in the foreground for the iPhone 14 could mark the end of a cycle on Apple’s side, after offering blue and green on the iPhone 12 and 13.

When launching new colors in 2021 and 2022, Apple used online conferences to announce the change. However, this year, the company is expected to limit itself to a simple press release. The release date for the iPhone 14 Yellow is yet to be confirmed, but sources suggest that it could be released in the coming days, and Apple may issue a press release either on March 7th or March 14th.

The introduction of a yellow iPhone 14 and the decision to launch it outside of the usual September window indicate Apple’s willingness to be flexible with its product launches. As Apple continues to innovate and introduce new products, it remains to be seen if the company will continue to break its traditions in the future.
