Warner Media starts migrating from HBO Max to Max
Warner Media today started the migration of its streaming platform which is now simply called Max. Thus, as of today, that name directly replaces the late HBO Max. Therefore, it took just over a month between the announcement of the new platform (on April 12th) and its migration. In Max’s program, more than 1000 contents in 4K, but only for the “Premium” formula are available for US$ 19.99/month. This formula also offers simultaneous display on four screens, in addition to compatibility with Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision.
The other $9.99/month (with ads) and $15.99/month subscription plans don’t offer 4K (FullHD only, which is a price increase) and even less Dolby compatibility. It’s quite a regression compared to the service we’re all familiar with, which for $15.99 offered 4K viewing.
In terms of content, it is clear that it remains very qualitative: in addition to the HBO catalog (The Last of Us, House of the Dragon, Game of Thrones, etc.), it offers content from the Discovery channels and all the great Warner films (Dune 1, Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Nolan’s Batman, etc.) without forgetting the upcoming films like Dune 2, Furiosa, Joker 2, etc.
Max has already replaced HBO Max in the US
It is worth remembering that the content of this “new” platform is now widely available in other markets, and on several streaming services, namely HBO Max. When is the way paved in other markets? Around here, probably only in 2024.
