The release of a new operating system version often brings improvements and enhancements to users. However, it also comes with its share of challenges, and Android 14 is no exception to this rule. As we previously reported, the Pixel 6 series experienced improved battery life after updating to Google’s latest OS. Unfortunately, alongside these benefits, a series of issues have started to surface.

Following the distribution of the Android 14 update by Google, numerous users on Reddit began to report significant problems affecting their Pixel 6 series smartphones. The most prevalent issue appears to be the loss of access to the device’s internal storage. Users have been receiving notifications about insufficient available storage space, and they are unable to access it to back up their data before attempting a restore. Additionally, some users have been experiencing sudden crashes in the system launcher.

Users grappling with these issues sought assistance from Google support, but unfortunately, they received solutions that were often ineffective and inadequate. In several instances, Google support had not encountered similar problems before. A common thread in most cases emerged as the discussion on Reddit unfolded: the affected users had configured multiple user profiles on their smartphones. In some cases, accessing internal storage was possible from the primary account, but this didn’t appear to be a consistent solution for everyone.

Given the multitude of reports, it is likely that Google is already working diligently to identify and address the problem. Some users have attributed the issue to a Google Play system update, but Google is expected to provide a comprehensive solution promptly to all those who are currently experiencing difficulties in using their Pixel 6 smartphones.
