In a recent update to the AI Core application, the Google Pixel 8 Pro has enhanced its AI-based features, showcasing a commitment to continuous improvement. Users can anticipate even more excitement this December, with the upcoming launch of two highly anticipated features. Anticipated Features for the Pixel 8 Pro

Renowned tech insiderĀ  has shared insights that this month’s update for the Pixel 8 Pro will introduce the long-awaited Video Boost and AI Super Zoom features.

Google has a history of prioritizing machine learning in its Pixel phones, and this year has seen a significant expansion in this area. While features like Magic Editor, powered by AI, were available from the device’s launch, Google had previously announced that Video Boost and Zoom Enhance (referred to by Weinbach as AI Super Zoom) would be rolled out at a later date.

The Pixel 8 Pro, known for its HDR+ photo capabilities, faces a unique challenge in delivering HDR+ videos due to the substantial amount of data involved. The Video Boost feature addresses this by sending a copy of the video to the cloud. Google’s advanced computational photography models then adjust various elements, including color, lighting, and grain. Notably, Video Boost enhances Night Sight Video on the Pixel 8 Pro, improving video quality in low-light conditions.

Zoom Enhance, another exclusive feature for the Pixel 8 Pro, utilizes generative AI to enhance details in enlarged versions of photos already taken. Although Google initially mentioned that this feature would be released at a later date, it seems the time has finally arrived.

The much-anticipated features are poised for release later this month. With its existing reputation as one of the top smartphones on the market, the Pixel 8 Pro is set to elevate its standing even further. However, whether users will embrace the idea of uploading videos to Google’s servers remains a topic of interest and discussion.
