Apple Unveils iOS 16.5.1 and iPadOS 16.5.1, Focusing on Bug Fixes and Enhanced Security
Apple has recently released the latest versions of their iPhone and iPad operating systems, known as iOS 16.5.1 and iPadOS 16.5.1, respectively. These updates primarily concentrate on resolving minor bugs from previous iterations and strengthening security measures. With this stable release, all supported devices can now benefit from the latest improvements.
The new builds, namely iOS 16.5.1 and iPadOS 16.5.1 (20F75), supersede the previous “stable” versions, iOS 16.5 and iPadOS 16.5, which were made available on May 18th (build 20F66). The update introduces crucial fixes, including the resolution of a charging issue encountered when using the Lightning to USB 3 Camera Adapter.
For the iPhone 14 Pro Max, the update package is approximately 283MB in size. It is highly recommended for all users due to its vital security enhancements. Furthermore, this update addresses various bugs across supported iPhones (iPhone 8 onwards) and iPads.
In an additional security bulletin, Apple discloses that the update addresses two specific vulnerabilities: the first (CVE-2023-32434) pertains to the kernel level, while the second (CVE-2023-32439) is related to WebKit.
