Battlefield 2042 Season 3, dubbed Escalation, makes its debut today and brings with it a lot of high-powered, ground-war-oriented content. This Season 3 ushers in a new map, Specialist, weapon, vehicle, and 100 levels of Battle Pass content.
Sound content additions include the new Specialist, weapons, cosmetics and more – all available to players as part of the free tier track in Battlefield 2042 Battle Pass. Additional cosmetic items are earned through a Premium version of the Battle Pass.
In Season 3, the fight is being taken to the untamed wilderness of Sweden on the new Spearhead map. Scattered throughout the grounds are semi-automated manufacturing facilities for high-tech weaponry. Players will have to navigate up close and make tactical decisions to achieve victory – bolstered by the firepower introduced in Season 3’s new weapons.
High damage and more tactical stakes are the name of the game with Season 3 weapons. The Rorsch Mk-4 Railgun features multiple fire modes in a cutting-edge package; players who manage to master their load times will find a lot of versatility and power in their hands. The NVK-S22 Smart Shotgun is a compact semi-automatic shotgun, while the NVK-P125 Bullpup Pistol is specially designed for longer ranges. The Battlefield classic “Throw Knives” also joined the weapons roster.
Battlefield 2042’s latest Specialist, Rasheed Zain, uses his XM370A Airburst Rifle to knock opponents out of cover. Well-suited for leading the front lines, Zain can quickly recover and recharge his health after taking out an enemy.
Engage opponents in the new EMKV90-TOR Tank, which has multiple modes, allowing players to move quickly with Mobility Mode or dish out damage in the slower Siege Mode. This game-changing tank features a detection system that gives players warning of incoming attacks.
The new release also brings new Assignments that offer players the opportunity to earn more Vaulted Weapons such as the XM8 LMG and A-91, with even more to come in future Season 3 updates.
