HMD Global ready to launch new smartphone… and it’s not a Nokia

HMD Global, a name that may not tell you much, but it is the company responsible for the Nokia branded smartphones currently on the market. After announcing the M-KOPA X1 at the end of last year (which is nothing more than the Nokia C32 with another name), the company is now preparing to launch a new smartphone under its own brand.
Now, some news of HMD Global‘s next smartphone have been published, currently known by the model code N159V. The image we can see below comes from “industry sources”, and it is not yet known what the commercial name of the equipment will be. However, it is clear from the images that the HMD logo has gained visibility in the center of the back surface, compared to the M-KOPA X1.
The rumor doesn’t give us any technical previews, but from the image the N159V looks like a low-cost product. The plastic construction (which you can feel, but not see the typical inserts of metal frame antennas) gives the feeling of a smartphone built with attention to substance rather than aesthetics.
On the back there should be two cameras: the relatively low resolution of the rendering doesn’t allow us to extract much more detail, but we can see that in the input range the number of “lenses” within the group of cameras sometimes doesn’t guarantee the presence of so many sensors. . This does not seem to be the case with the new HMD which, while we wait for its name, we will call it N159V.
There is little to say about the front surface of the HMD N159V, except that the selfie camera appears to be inserted into a hole in the screen, unlike the M-KOPA X1 which has a waterdrop-shaped notch. According to rumors, HMD intends to sell its products in several markets around the world, but the date for this to happen is not yet known.
