James Cameron is considering a New Terminator Reboot

The Terminator saga may not have said its last word, with James Cameron revealing that there are discussions for a new film, to the point of doing a reboot. After all, nothing is done in the immediate future. This happened on the occasion of his passage to the Smartless podcast that James Cameron mentioned the project.
“If I were to do another Terminator movie and maybe try to revive this franchise, which is in discussion but nothing has been decided, I would make a movie more about artificial intelligence than crazy robots gone berserk.”
That in itself is a risky gamble. As much as the first Terminator (especially the second) are considered very good films, the following were poorly received by critics. There were even flops, like Genisys and Dark Fate. The first grossed $440.6 million at the box office and should have grossed at least $450 million to be profitable. The second went even worse, with 261.1 million dollars at the box office. Again, it would have to reach $450 million to be profitable.
James Cameron directed and co-wrote the first two Terminator films. He did not participate in the three sequels that followed, all of which were critically rejected. He was back for Dark Fate, but only as a writer and producer. Currently, his film Avatar: The Path of Water is in theaters and has had some success at the box office.
