Microlino: Electric Car with Ultra-compact dimensions and Neo-retro style
A modern, electric version of the Isetta, the mythical micro-city car that caused a sensation almost everywhere in Europe in the 1950s, the Microlino stands out with its ultra-compact dimensions and its neo-retro style. One of a kind, it is finally available for pre-order after years of waiting.
.
Microlino, with its 2.5 meters in length, smaller than a Smart EQ fortwo and barely larger than the Citroën Ami. It is the work of the Swiss startup Swiss Micro Mobility Systems, specialist in electric scooters and which presented a first concept at the Geneva Motor Show in … 2016. Six years later, the production of the Microlino was finally launched and the first should be delivered this summer, in Switzerland.
While the company originally hoped to hit the road with the first models in early 2018, design delays have pushed the schedule back just a little. To explain the delays, the company writes: The reasons for the delays were that the homologation took longer than we expected due to the special shape of the Microlino and the front door. Also, we wanted to get your feedback first before we start production.
