Microsoft Teams is set to make its debut on Android Auto in February. The company’s decision to integrate Teams into Android Auto, a platform traditionally centered around navigation and entertainment apps like Google’s Android Auto and Apple’s CarPlay, signals a strategic move by Microsoft.
Earlier, Google had hinted at expanding the range of apps available on Android Auto, including the prospective addition of Microsoft Teams. However, specifics regarding the exact release date were not disclosed at that time.
Now, Microsoft has officially confirmed that Teams will be accessible on Android Auto starting in February 2024. This development announcement follows approximately nine months since Microsoft first revealed its plans to bring Teams to the automotive platform. While Microsoft mentions that the app will support features like initiating and receiving calls through Teams, it remains unclear if messaging functionalities will also be incorporated.
