Missing Apple Notes? Here’s What to Do

Some iPhone users have recently encountered an issue where their Apple Notes seem to vanish—likely due to a syncing problem related to iCloud.

According to reports originally highlighted by MacRumors, this issue appears to affect users who recently agreed to Apple’s updated iCloud terms and conditions, which were rolled out in September. Apple has yet to officially acknowledge the bug, and some users report that the notes reappear on their own over time.

Open the Settings app, tap your name at the top, then go to iCloud > Notes, and make sure “Sync this iPhone” is turned on. If it’s already on, try toggling it off and back on. After a short wait, your missing notes may be restored.

While this glitch has been frustrating for some, iCloud has also introduced several useful features this year. In October, Apple’s iOS 18.1 update allowed users to change their iCloud email address for the first time—great news for anyone stuck with an outdated or embarrassing address.

Earlier, in February, Apple also launched a redesigned iCloud app for Windows. The update made it easier to sync photos to a folder on a PC, integrate Safari bookmarks with popular browsers like Chrome and Firefox, and access iCloud contacts in Outlook.
