The 2024 Motorola Edge is set to feature the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor, enabling the midrange phone to access Google’s AI photo tools for the first time. With this new processor, users can utilize Magic Editor, Magic Eraser, Photo Unblur, and Google Auto Enhance to remove unwanted elements from photos and make other post-snap adjustments.

Available unlocked starting June 20 at $549.99, the 2024 Edge is $50 cheaper than last year’s model.

While much of the phone remains the same as the 2023 version, including the 2,400-by-1,080-pixel resolution screen with a 144Hz adaptive refresh rate and an IP68 rating for dust and water resistance, it still features 8GB of RAM and 256GB of non-upgradable storage.

The main camera is a 50MP shooter with a new Sony LYT-700C image sensor and an f/1.8 lens. Additionally, the phone includes a 13MP f/2.2 ultra-wide camera for macro photos and a 32MP f/2.4 front camera for selfies, both carried over from the previous model.

The battery capacity has increased from 4,400mAh to 5,000mAh, supporting 68W wired fast charging and 15W wireless charging. However, the phone does not include a charger in the box.

New for the 2024 Edge is a customizable side button, allowing users quick access to their favorite apps. The phone will be available in Midnight Blue
