New Technologies: From an Electric Car to Low-carbon Future
EDF VivaTech, the largest European show dedicated to tech, is the unmissable event dedicated to innovation. It will be held this year from June 16 to 18, Porte de Versailles in Paris. Futura covers this event by following EDF and particularly its “EDF Pulse” system. “Time to reconnect”. Reconnecting people, the environment, growth, all for a sustainable, electric and low-carbon future. This is the challenge for EDF, which will feed the 2021 edition of VivaTech with all the ideas supported through its “EDF Pulse” system.
Here are all the innovations that will be present in the “Discovery sponsored by EDF” area of the VivaTech show and which will offer over 400 m2 up to 28 start-up corners and an Arena for live innovation demonstrations.
Building a CO₂-neutral energy future, reconciling preservation of the planet, well-being and development, thanks to electricity and innovative solutions and services
Generating electricity from paper and enzymes for sustainable and ecological energy production?
The proof with BeFC, winner of the EDF Pulse 2020 start-up awards, to make the integration of electronics in disposable medical devices more virtuous. Instead of chemical catalysts based on noble metals, the startup’s technology uses biological catalysts to convert natural substrates like glucose and oxygen into electricity. This helps reduce recycling costs, being more environmentally friendly with sustainable materials and fuels.
Japet, wearable medicine
Developedin 2015 from the meeting of a medical engineer specializing in the spine, a robotic engineer trained at MIT on exoskeletons and a product designer, Japet brings medicine into a new era. The solution combines medical science and modern robotics to create exoskeletons and thus relieve the back, restore the body’s balance and free up movement capabilities.
Water Horizon, against fatal heat
Fatal heat is all the waste industrial heat which in Europe represents the equivalent of 100 nuclear reactors. For 5 years, Water Horizon has been developing a technology which makes it possible to recover this heat, store it without loss and then distribute it in the form of a thermal battery allowing it to be transported and distributed at another time. This clean energy saves up to 95% of greenhouse gas emissions!
What if you suddenly had the gift of ubiquity?
La Vitre helps multi-site teams to exchange in a natural way thanks to digital windows, which are always open. No cable to plug in, no password to type, it is immediately operational and optimized to reduce energy consumption. In addition, 60 languages are available for immediate translation of your words and those of your interlocutor.
