Gurman recently said that Apple would forgo the workstation-class “Extreme” chip and use a slightly improved “Ultra” processor in the next Mac Pro. Gurman also said that the new Mac Pro would use an M2 Ultra chip with a 24-core CPU and 76-core GPU, with the same storage options, graphics and network cards, but users would not be able to upgrade the RAM memory.
Next Mac Pro may be less powerful than expected
Aware of the lack of important news in terms of performance, Apple intends to attract fans with a renewed but not revolutionized design, which seems rather disappointing.
