SAG Awards 2022: ‘Squid Games’ First Korean TV Show won many Awards

At the 28th International Screen Actors Guild Awards (SAG Awards 2022), ‘Squid Games’ won many awards. At the same time, the family drama CODA has been awarded the Best Ensemble Cast Award. This award show was held on Sunday in Santa Monica, California. It was broadcast on TNT and TBS.   Jung Ho-yeon has won the Best Actress Award for her performance in a drama series.

After receiving the award, Ho Yen said, ‘I thank everyone. My dream of seeing myself as an actor came true. During this, Ho Yen also appeared very emotional. Netflix’s original show Squid Games has won the most awards in this award show. Squid Game has created history as the first Korean TV show and the first foreign language series to be nominated for a SAG Award.

According to media reports, the producer of the show Hwang Dong-hyuk has said, ‘As the producer of Squid Game, today should be the happiest moment. I remember all the days I went to theaters to see, auditions, first meeting with the cast. His performances, script readings, rehearsals and days on set are all memorable. He further added, ‘I want to say thanks to all the actors who were nominated. I also want to thank the supporting and background actors.

Hwang Dong-hyuk further said, ‘It was not possible to make a squid game without dedication and hard work. The credit for this award goes to all of you. Let us tell you that at the Golden Globes, O Yeong-su made history as the first Korean actor to win a Golden Globe. He has won the Best Supporting Actor Award in the Television category.
