Samsung announces its 8.5 Gbps LPDDR5X RAM memory

Samsung   announced what it claims is the fastest LPDDR5X RAM memory in the world (to date), which has speeds of 8.5 Gbps. According to the press release of the South Korean company, this speed can at least be achieved in combination with Qualcomm Snapdragon chips.

Not only mobile devices should benefit from this speed, but also corresponding PCs based on ARM chips, servers or automotive systems.

For example, LPDDR RAM is becoming increasingly important in vehicles to process the large amount of data as quickly as possible, which is generated by sensors, driver assistance features and the like. For data centers, LPDDR5X RAM is useful to increase efficiency and reduce ongoing operating costs.

Samsung expects the importance of LPDDR5 RAM to continue to grow, because faster and more efficient memories are also in demand in emerging markets, in the artificial intelligence segment and as far as the metaverse is concerned.

Samsung has validated the new 8.5Gbps LPDDR5X RAM in connection with Qualcomm Snapdragon platforms, but when it will be able to be installed in the first products is still open.
