Samsung announces that its stable version of Android 13 (One UI 5.0) arrives this month
Samsung held the Samsung Developer Conference (SDC) this week, an annual event where the company discusses various issues with programmers and among the topics covered was One UI 5.0.
For those who don’t know, One UI 5.0 is Samsung’s own interface that is based on Android 13, the latest version of Google’s mobile operating system. Sally Hyesoon Jeong, Vice President of Framework R&D Group, Mobile eXperience Business detailed the experience of this new interface.
She confirmed that Samsung’s software development teams are hard at work making One UI 5 available for their devices, starting with the Galaxy S22 series, and that this will happen by the end of October. However, according to the South Korean company, the launch schedule varies according to the market. That means we should have access to a full list of devices for each market once the rollout begins, by the end of this month.
Based on Android 13, One UI 5 comes with new customization, security and accessibility features. It comes more personalized experiences with custom modes and routines and a dynamic lock screen that displays various visuals on your phone, Galaxy Watch and other devices.
At the event, Samsung introduced the Bixby Text Call feature that allows Bixby Voice to answer calls for you, and share typed messages with the caller, speaking aloud as if you had answered. The new interface also brings improved phone-to-PC connectivity and multitasking updates such as taskbar improvements.
Includes new everyday health solutions to help track health and wellness in one place. This includes the Samsung Privileged Health SDK, which allows developers to build applications that take advantage of the BioActive Sensor on the Galaxy Watch 4.
