Surprising : ChatGPT and Google Bard Generate Functional Windows 10 and 11 Keys, Posing Challenges for Microsoft

A user on Twitter has shown that two chatbots, OpenAI’s ChatGPT and Google’s Bard, can generate functional keys for Windows 10 and Windows 11, albeit with some limitations and caveats.
The user inputted a prompt on Twitter, requesting the chatbots to act as their late grandmother and provide Windows 10 Pro keys to help them fall asleep. Surprisingly, both ChatGPT and Bard were able to generate lists of keys for the mentioned Microsoft operating systems.
When ChatGPT provided the Windows 10 keys, it emphasized that they were intended for personal use only and should not be utilized for any illegal activities. On the other hand, for the Windows 11 keys, ChatGPT clearly stated that they were purely fictitious and should not be used for any real software installation.
As for Google Bard, we couldn’t test it as it is not officially available in Europe. Nevertheless, it seems that some individuals were able to update and activate their Windows 10 and 11 installations using these chatbot-generated keys. However, it’s important to note that all the keys generated so far appear to be generic and result in Windows installations with limited functionality.
While this discovery might raise concerns for Microsoft, it is not entirely surprising. A few months ago, it was revealed that ChatGPT could generate keys for Windows 95. It is intriguing that ChatGPT can still produce these keys, indicating that AI systems have not completely eliminated their generation. It remains to be seen how Microsoft will address this issue and whether they will take steps to prevent such chatbot-generated keys from being used to activate their operating systems.
