There is Opposition to making Vaccination Mandatory

According to the information, thousands of citizens are protesting against making vaccination mandatory and Covid-19 restrictions in the capital. During this, some protesters compared the Covid restrictions to fascism and displayed Nazi symbols with the Canadian flag. The protesting truckers have named their 70 km long convoy as ‘Freedom Convoy’.

Apart from this, many protesters sharply criticised Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, targeting him. During this, people were carrying banners in their hands, on which vulgar and lewd abuses were written for the Prime Minister.

Children, women, elderly and disabled are also included in these protesters.

 

Protesters entered the National War Memorial

During this, some protesters were seen dancing at the main war memorial, which was condemned by Canada’s top soldier General Wayne Eyre and Canada’s Defense Minister Anita Anand. Police are on high alert about possible violence after hundreds of protesters entered the parliamentary premises despite warnings of severe cold.

 

Defense Minister condemned the incident

 Canadian Defense Minister Anita Anand also condemned the incident, saying that ‘the behaviour we are seeing today is condemnable. He said that the Tomb of the Soldiers and the National War Memorial are sacred sites for our country. I urge all Canadians to treat those who fought and died for Canada with respect.
