Wi-R appears to be a Promising Technology
Meet Wi-R: Data transfer technology that works… by touch
Wi-R, a technology developed by startup Ixana, is based on quasi-static electro fields (or EQS). In detail this means that a simple handshake is enough to transmit information between two individuals, the body then acts as an antenna.
Wi-R works wirelessly at a distance of 10cm (and from 2 to 5 meters with a driver), but it is clear that data transfer by simple contact remains the most spectacular aspect of this technology.
The presentation video, which we can watch below, shows two people sharing music with the connected speaker, and that’s just holding hands. In addition to music, all types of digital data can be transferred using this technology.
Game-changer! Can't wait to see devices using this tech.#Wireless #technologyhttps://t.co/vnqCAsRQJf

So certainly the bandwidth remains capped at 1 Mb/s for now, but the next prototypes should be 20 times faster. Wi-R has another great advantage over conventional Wi-Fi, which is low consumption, up to 100 times less than Bluetooth, for example. The level of miniaturization obtained also allows considering that this technology can be used in many accessories.
Wi-R appears to be a promising technology for a variety of applications, including personal and professional use. It offers a fast, efficient, and convenient way to transfer data between devices without the need for a network or hotspot.
