We are a local family-owned restaurant and have gathered together a very knowledgeable and experienced team. Inspired by over 30 years in the restaurant industry primarily in Italian restaurants, I have been developing ideas and plans to create my own restaurant that provides excellent food and exceptional service. Finally, I have the opportunity to put my ideas to work here at Cèrto in Miami. We look forward to serving you and adding you to the family.

We serve a combination of classic and modern Italian-inspired food. We are pleased to prepare, right in front of you, both Neapolitan and New York-style pizza as well as other dishes in our wood-burning oven. We also offer a boutique wine list to complement our chefs creations. We've come a long way from the early days in 1958 when Mel's was known as the Elmwood Donut Shop - just a counter, 14 stools and a large variety of donuts. But even back then we always listened to what our customer had to say. That's why in 1956 we added a grill and started to cook hamburgers and hot dogs. When our customers saw the grill they said "How about bacon and eggs?" and so breakfast became the new meal at Mel's. Next came BLTs and ham and cheese sandwiches for lunch.
