NASA’s Moon Mission Launched Today

American Space Agency NASA’s Moon Mission ‘Artemis-1’ has been launched today. The rocket took off from the Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 1:47am EST (6:47am GMT).
According to NASA, a few minutes after the launch, the rocket left the Orion spacecraft towards the moon. On Monday, Orion will pass 96.5 kilometers of the Moon’s surface. It will also leave satellites
Orion spacecraft separates from NASA’s rocket. It will revolve around the moon and return to Earth after 25 days.
Let us tell you that hydrogen gas was leaking in the rocket since morning, which was rectified by the scientists on time. At the same time, Hurricane Nicole, which recently hit Florida, damaged the mission. A part of the spacecraft had come loose. However, this too was fixed in time.
NASA’s human moon mission was postponed for decades
The plan for the SLS missile emerged in 2010 during the administration of former US President Barack Obama. They wanted to send astronauts to the moon, but after the mission was delayed, the government decided to cancel it. However, the US Parliament kept the mission alive. NASA has been asked to continue planning the SLS rocket and the Orion crew capsule. Under it, the rocket was supposed to launch in 2016. In the 2019, it was revealed that the government is losing billions of dollars due to the delay in NASA’s mission.
Artemis Plan to send Humans to the Moon
After 53 years, America is again preparing to send humans to the moon through the Artemis mission. It is divided into three parts. Artemis-1, 2 and 3. The Artemis-1 rocket will go into orbit around the moon, release some small satellites, and then be stationed in orbit itself. NASA also plan to launch Artemis-2 and Artemis-3 in next 2-3 years. Astronauts will explore the water and ice at the moon’s south pole in next missions.
Artemis-1 mission test flight for NASA
Artemis-1 is a test flight for the flagship mission, which will not send astronauts. As part of the mission, NASA’s Space Launch System (SLS) Megarocket and Orion Crew Capsule will reach the moon. The mission will last 25 days, 11 hours and 36 minutes, after which it will return to Earth. The spacecraft will cover a total distance of 20 lakh 92 thousand 147 km.
Artemis mission cost $93 billion
The project will cost $93 billion from 2012 to 2025, according to an audit by NASA’s Office of the Inspector General. At the same time, each flight costs $4.1 billion. So far, $37 billion has been spent on this project.
