Microsoft Integrates VPN into Edge 110, but with Limited Availability

Microsoft continues to enrich its latest Chromium-based browser, Edge, and recently released Edge 110 that arrived with some new features. And among the novelties it seems that we have a native VPN, but that seems not to have arrived for all users.

Apparently only a few selected users have access to this VPN, and that means that this feature is still being tested by Microsoft, despite being already present in the stable version. This new feature, called Secure Network, was implemented in partnership with Cloudflare and offers users 1GB of secure VPN traffic as part of the free plan.

The fact that the feature has reached the final stages of implementation suggests that Microsoft will likely announce pricing, and a full rollout, of the Edge Secure Network very soon.

The Secure Network feature emphasizes the privacy benefits of using a VPN, rather than its ability to bypass regional restrictions by changing the user’s IP address. The service automatically selects servers in the user’s region for secure operation on public networks. In other words, users can only use this Secure Network to protect their privacy.
VPN Service Comes to Microsoft Edge

According to some images that are being revealed about the new version of Microsoft Edge, this VPN service supports three modes of operation: “Selected sites”, “Optimized” and “All sites”. This suggests that users will have the option to choose which websites they want to protect.
