Windows 11 Embraces Bing and ChatGPT to Revolutionize User Experience
Bing’s integration into the Windows 11 taskbar is a surprise addition, considering the group hadn’t previously announced it, and tested it with members of the Windows Insider Program. A new Bing icon appears in the taskbar search box, and Microsoft highlights the new chat responses experience in the search dropdown.
As a reminder, the new Bing is already present in Microsoft Edge and Skype. The addition to the Windows 11 taskbar will allow it to reach more users, as it will be accessible at all times. However, it is worth noting that the new Bing is currently being tested and that it is necessary to register on this page to access it.
Microsoft is also improving its widget system in Windows 11 to include third-party options like Meta and Spotify. Even the touch experience in Windows 11 has been improved with a new tablet-optimized taskbar. If you have a device, like the Surface Pro, detaching a keyboard will now collapse the taskbar to make it more compact, with a streamlined taskbar designed for touch. On the other hand, the operating system receives a screen recording tool. It was already possible to take screenshots, but they were just images. Now the “Screenshot” tool (which comes pre-installed) can also record video.
Finally, Notepad adds tabs and Microsoft Teams has been improved to make it easier for users to view their videos, and start conversations faster.
The Windows 11 update is now available on Windows Update. Microsoft says it will offer the same to more users starting next March 14th, when the March security update is available.
