Generative AI Coming to Google Search

Google revealed last Wednesday that it intends to improve its search engine with the addition of generative artificial intelligence, enough to compete with Bing, from Microsoft, which has already ventured in this field.
With new generative AI capabilities in search, Google says it’s making the job of search easier, allowing users to understand a topic faster, and discover new points of view and ideas. Thanks to generative AI, Google’s search engine can take care of some of that work for you.
This will give you an overview of key information to consider, along with links to go deeper into the subject. Google specifies that context will be repeated from question to question to help you continue your exploration more naturally. You will also find useful starting points for web-based content and a variety of perspectives to explore further.
Shopping will also be part of these changes with Generative Artificial Intelligence. When researching a product, you get an overview of the factors to consider and the products that meet your expectations. You will also receive product descriptions, including relevant and up-to-date reviews, ratings, prices and product images. In fact, the new generative AI-powered shopping experience is based on Google’s Shopping Graph, which contains over 35 billion product listings. Google also indicates that, every hour, more than 1.8 billion ads are updated in its shopping system.
The experience is called the Search Generative Experience (SGE). It will be available in the US and in English on a trial basis through Google Labs in the coming weeks.
