AMD drops Radeon RX 7600 price to fight GeForce RTX 4060 8GB

The Radeon RX 7600 is AMD’s direct competitor to the GeForce RTX 4060 8GB, NVIDIA’s next low-cost graphics card for 1080P gaming, which will be released on June 28th. As we already know, the challenge in this price range is not only in performance, but also in price, which is the reason behind the recent price cut made by AMD on its base model Radeon RX 7000 RDNA 3 series.
At launch, the Radeon RX 7600 had an MSRP of $269, now reduced to $249 (or, if you prefer, down 7.4%) and already “verifiable” on Amazon. It’s not a huge price difference, but the difference to the GeForce RTX 4060 8GB is now just $50, with the new RTX 4060 credited with a $299 price tag.
While we wait for NVIDIA’s new card, we don’t know what the real difference between the two GPUs is, including performance and prices, but the situation seems to be lining up. A quick search on the web, and we find that now the Radeon RX 7600 can be found in some stores for 270 euros, for example the MSI Radeon RX 7600 MEC 2X.’
AMD Cuts Radeon RX 7600 Price
Recall that AMD’s Radeon RX 7600 offers a 32 compute unit RDNA3 GPU and 2048 stream processors; on board we find 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM on a 128bit BUS, while the TDP is 168 watts. The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 8GB on the other hand, although more expensive, should guarantee a much larger number of processing units (more than 3,000), again with 8GB of memory, but with a TDP that is said to be less than 120watts.
