If you use Google Chrome on multiple devices, there’s some exciting news. A new update will allow you to access your saved passwords, addresses, and bookmarks on any device without needing to sync Chrome.

Once this update is released, simply signing into Chrome with your Google account on any device will give you instant access to all your saved login credentials and data—no need to manually enable syncing. This feature, already available on iOS, will soon be coming to Android and desktop versions as well.

Claire Charron, Chrome’s Product Manager, explains that users increasingly expect to access their data seamlessly by just signing in and keeping it secure by signing out. This update aims to enhance cross-device functionality, allowing you to, for example, start planning a trip on your phone and then easily continue on another device. You can send tabs between devices, find your bookmarks, and use autogenerated passwords with ease. Chrome will offer the option to sign in for a personalized browsing experience on any device.

For those concerned about privacy, saving your browsing history and syncing open tabs across devices will remain optional, even after signing into Chrome.
