Coca-Cola Debuts Futuristic AI-Crafted Soft Drink: Y3000 Zero Sugar

Coca-Cola has introduced a limited-edition soft drink, Coca-Cola Y3000 Zero Sugar, crafted in collaboration with artificial intelligence. This unique flavor aims to offer a glimpse into what Coca-Cola might taste like in the year 3000, as imagined by fans through emotions, colors, aspirations, and more, all interpreted by AI.
Oana Vlad, Senior Director of Global Strategy at The Coca-Cola Company, elaborated on the concept, stating, “We hope that Coca-Cola will remain as relevant and refreshing in the year 3000 as it is today, so we challenged ourselves to explore the concept of what a Coke from the future might taste likeāand what kind of experiences would a Coke from the future unlock?”
AI also played a crucial role in designing the drink’s visual identity, resulting in a dynamic representation that showcases a liquid in a continually changing state. This design emphasizes a positive vision of the future.
Coca-Cola has made Y3000 available as a limited-edition flavor in several regions, including the United States, Canada, China, Europe, and Africa. In the United States, an original taste version inspired by the 1886 version of Coke is also offered.
When you purchase a Y3000 bottle, you’ll find a QR code that provides access to the Coca-Cola Creations Hub, allowing you to apply Y3000 AI Cam filters to your photos. Additionally, Coca-Cola is launching a limited-edition line of apparel and accessories in collaboration with Ambush, inspired by the future.
This isn’t Coca-Cola’s first venture into creative collaborations. In June, the company partnered with Riot Games for a League of Legends-themed Coke Zero, and earlier in the year, Realme unveiled a Coca-Cola-themed smartphone. Furthermore, Coca-Cola is working on developing a paper bottle for its soft drinks, demonstrating its commitment to a sustainable future. For those who prefer alcoholic beverages, AI is making strides in Japan, with potential implications for the role of mixologists.
