Google Lens: Now Search with Image and Text Simultaneously

In recent years, Google has increased its efforts in the field of artificial intelligence, the aim is to use this technology to make its services more useful and user-friendly for users. One of Google’s goals is certainly to improve search that in recent times has expanded considerably from the point of view of potential thanks to Google Lens.

Now, Google Lens, one of the best services of the research giant, is preparing to receive some news related to the implementation of artificial intelligence.

Cameras play an increasingly important role on our smartphones, not only do they allow us to capture the moments we want to remember but, thanks to Google Lens, they also allow us to carry out searches. Google’s service already allows you to search by camera, by an image or directly in the search bar, but now the company wants to expand this functionality of its service.

In fact, in the coming months it will be possible to use Google Lens to search “on the screen”, thanks to this technology we will be able to search what we see in a photo, or video on the web, directly in the application that we are using (such as a messaging application, video or browser).

If, for example, you receive a video from a friend and you want to know more about where he is, just call the Google assistant (by pressing the Power button or the home button on your smartphone) and click on the “screen search” item : Lens will identify the location you’ve chosen and provide you with a whole host of additional information about it.

This multiple search function has recently been improved, in fact, the possibility of performing searches locally has been added, combining the word “near me” with the image; For now, the new feature is only available in English and in the United States, but it will roll out globally in the coming months.

However, the multisearch will allow us, in the coming months, to do even more, thanks to it we will have the possibility to actually use it in any image displayed on the search results page on mobile devices.
