Google replaces “Chat” with “RCS” in its Android app
As everyone may know, the Google Messages application is very similar to Messages, the Apple application that powers the iPhone. Some Android device users may use the Messages application connected to their carrier for no reason other than not knowing what the differences are. Originally, Google called its replacement for SMS Chat. For example, if an Android user is messaging another Android user and they are both using Google Messages, the text field will show Chat. But Google is renaming Chat using the RCS name. According to what is being revealed, in areas of the messaging application where Google used to use the Chat brand, it now mentions RCS. The first item on the Application Settings page now says RCS chats where it previously just said Chats. Google has started rolling out the necessary updates for Android users to see the rebranding from Chat to RCS.
