Healthy Eating and Exercise prevents the onset of Chronic Diseases

Infarction, Diabetes, Cerebrovascular Accident (CVA) and Hypertension are among the main causes of death globally. All of these are chronic diseases that, many times, could be preventable with the adoption of healthy habits.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), these diseases, in addition to the different types of cancer, are responsible for 74% of deaths worldwide. That number represents 41 million people each year, of whom 17 million die before age 70.
Risk factors
In many cases, these diseases are associated with unhealthy habits, such as smoking and alcoholism. Obesity, and even being overweight, are among the main risk factors. This is because they are associated with the accumulation of visceral fat, which occurs mainly in the abdominal cavity, leading to the formation of inflammatory markers that spread through the blood.
The health experts point out that obesity, by itself, is a risk factor. However, if associated with other cardiovascular factors, the risk of a myocardial infarction or stroke is increased, Nutritional control (with restriction of saturated fats and carbohydrates), along with physical exercise, can reduce the risk of cardiovascular events. The appearance of heart diseases is also influenced by heredity. It is proven that patients with a history of infarction in male first-degree relatives under 45 years of age, or female under 55 years of age, are at increased risk for this type of occurrence, says the cardiologist.
How to Ward off Diseases
The expert recommends prioritizing aerobic exercise for weight loss and improved cardiovascular health. As for a balanced diet, it is not enough to just eat in a more balanced way. There should be a concern to cut saturated fat, as well as reducing the consumption of carbohydrates and any and all processed foods. The cardiologist expert reinforces that cardiovascular diseases are multifactorial, so it is not enough to seek to solve a risk factor, but to keep another active.
Things like genetics and heredity can’t be changed, but we can simultaneously take care of obesity, hypertension, diabetes, smoking, alcoholism, anxiety and other factors. Cardiovascular disease is, and will remain for a long time, the main cause of mortality in the modern world, and that is why it is so important that we take care of risk factors to minimize the risk of loss of quality of life.
