Hitman 3 will be renamed as Hitman – World of Assassination.

Hitman 3 is reworked to bring the contents of the first 2 games.

IO Interactive is overhauling its Hitman repertoire by combining the trilogy’s content into a single experience. With the change, Hitman 3 will become “Hitman – World of Assassination” and will also contain locations and content from Hitman 1 and 2 at no additional cost. Current Hitman 3 owners are getting this update for free, and the studio will be removing standalone entries from sale on all platforms.

As for the reason for the change, the studio said it’s to reduce confusion over which version of Hitman to buy. “We are addressing these changes without compromise,” explains the studio. “We want to make absolutely sure that the experience of entering, or enjoying, the World of Assassination is simple and straightforward.” When purchasing a new Hitman – World of Assassination you will be entitled to Game of the Year content from Hitman 3, Hitman 2 and Hitman 1.

For those who partially own any of this post-launch expansion content, IO will also be providing a Steam bundle with “Complete the Set” discount functionality, as well as individual purchase options in the in-game store on all platforms. These changes will take effect from January 26, 2023, which means that there is time to purchase Hitman 3 at a discount to gain access to all legacy content that will be unlocked soon.
