Israeli Scientists Invents a Unique Car for Goldfish

Scientists from Israel’s Ben-Gurion University have created a unique car that can be driven on land by floating fish. Actually, through this car, scientists wanted to prove that fishes do not forget their direction even in adverse conditions. They recognize their target in any situation. In this experiment, the goldfish drove the car on the road and successfully reached its target.

Earlier in 2014, scientists from the Netherlands also made a car for the fish. However, the project was designed to demonstrate the possibilities of computers.

Car for such developed fish

Scientists made a special kind of robotic car. A water tank was fitted on this car in which gold fish were kept. A computer-operated device was installed to understand the direction of the fish’s mouth.

A camera was also installed just below this device, so that the movement of the fish can be tracked. Through this camera, the device gets to know the direction of the mouth of the fish. When the computer gets all this information, it turns the car in the same direction according to the direction of the fish’s mouth.

Scientists train goldfish

According to scientists, 6 goldfish were trained for this experiment. Earlier this car was driven in a small room. After that this experiment was repeated outside.

Initially, the fish took 30 minutes to reach their target by car. She used to lose her way many times. Gradually this time came down to 1 minute. Any small food item was given to the fish as a target.

During the study, the fish became experts in driving the car. According to the scientists, these fish drove the car with full ability. Even in a different environment, she did not forget her target and kept on walking on the right path. She managed to reach the target even after driving the car from a different point or placing the target elsewhere.

Earlier this experiment was done on rats and dogs

Prior to this experiment on fish, such vehicles have also been made for rats and dogs. Once you identify your target, even rats and dogs do not deviate from their path.
