OpenAI Launches GPT-4, the Successor to Its Popular Chatbot, ChatGPT

OpenAI has released its latest version of its chatbot, ChatGPT, called GPT-4, which can respond to images, process up to 25,000 words, and mimic different writing styles using natural human-like language. The new AI model has more advanced reasoning skills than ChatGPT, allowing it to find available meeting times for three schedules, for example. Millions of people have used ChatGPT since its launch in November 2022, with popular requests including writing songs, poems, and marketing copy. However, teachers warn students not to use it for homework help.
OpenAI has warned that GPT-4 may “hallucinate,” where AI invents facts or makes reasoning errors. Therefore, it is still not fully reliable. In a live demo, GPT-4 generated an answer to a complicated tax query, but there was no way to verify its answer.
OpenAI has also announced partnerships with language learning app Duolingo and Be My Eyes, an application for the visually impaired, to create AI chatbots that can assist their users using natural language. GPT-4 is a type of generative artificial intelligence that uses algorithms and predictive text to create new content based on prompts.
