After great success in cinemas, grossing more than 952 million dollars in box office revenue, Oppenheimer was honored with this year’s biggest film awards: 13 nominations for the Oscars and 13 more for the British Academy Film & Television Awards (BAFTA ).
The film, which stars names such as Cillian Murphy, nominated for an Oscar (J. Robert Oppenheimer) and Emily Blunt (Katherine “Kitty” Oppenheimer, biologist and botanist, Oppenheimer’s wife), in the lead roles, will be available exclusively on SkyShowtime from the next March 21st.
Written and directed by Oscar-nominated Christopher Nolan, this film enters the mind of theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer, director of the Manhattan Project at Los Alamos Laboratory, responsible for creating the first atomic bomb. An unprecedented cinematic event featuring an all-star cast including Matt Damon (Oscar winner), Robert Downey Jr. (Oscar nominee), Florence Pugh (Oscar nominee) and Josh Hartnett, as well as Oscar winners Casey Affleck, Rami Malek and Kenneth Branagh.
The film is based on the Pulitzer Prize-winning book American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Kai Bird and the late Martin J. Sherwin. The film is produced by Emma Thomas, Charles Roven and Christopher Nolan.
The winners of the 2024 BAFTA awards will be announced on February 18th, and the Oscar winners on March 10th.
