Apple has quietly extended the grace period for renewing a lapsed AppleCare+ extended warranty from 30 days to 45 days.

Previously, AppleCare+ customers had 30 days to renew their coverage after it expired. However, the company’s AppleCare+ support page now states that in certain countries, customers can purchase new coverage within 45 days of their original plan ending.

There are some important details to note. Customers who initially paid upfront for their AppleCare+ coverage on an iPhone, iPad, or Apple Watch may be eligible to renew on either a yearly or monthly basis, while coverage for Macs might only be available on a yearly basis. To check your eligibility, Apple recommends visiting mysupport.apple.com.

This extended 45-day renewal window is available in select countries, including the U.S., UK, Canada, Australia, and several others across Europe and Asia. However, customers in mainland China are still limited to the original 30-day period.

AppleCare+ offers more comprehensive coverage than the standard warranty, including protection against unlimited accidental damage (subject to a deductible), Express Replacement Service, and 24/7 priority access to phone or chat support.
