Be Careful while taking Screenshots of Facebook Messenger Chats, warns Zuckerberg

Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has warned users that their facebook friends will be able to see if you have taken screenshots of chats.

Messenger chats will be encrypted, just like WhatsApp, Mark said in his post that people need to be careful if they’re taking screenshots while Disappearing Messages are activated.

These are texts that disappear automatically and can be activated in your Facebook Messenger settings. Now, if you or a friend takes a screenshot of a disappearing chat, the other person will also be informed with a notification. It means a copy of your chat will still be there even if the messages have disappeared in the app.

Mark Zuckerberg Warns

To curb this trend, Facebook has come up with a new feature. Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg himself has warned users who took screenshots of the chat.

Mark Zuckerberg has explained in detail about this feature of Facebook. He said that it is common to take screenshots of chats, but till now you would not have known that screenshots of your chats were being taken.

“New update for end-to-end encrypted Messenger chats so you get a notification if someone screenshots a disappearing message,” Zuckerberg wrote on his Facebook profile.

“We’re also adding GIFs, stickers, and reactions to encrypted chats too.”
