Facebook Reels Launches Worldwide
Facebook Reels already existed in some countries but now it reaches the whole world. It Offers creators new ways to monetize and popularize their content
Starting today, Facebook Reels are now available for iOS and Android apps globally with more editing tools and new ways to help content creators monetize their videos.
It is no secret that TikTok has attracted a large part of the audience that Facebook wants thanks to its commitment to videos, since it is the preferred format of the youngest. To compete, Facebook launched Reels in the United States, quickly becoming one of the fastest growing parts of the social network.
A Reel is a short video that you can edit, add sound and effects and design to your liking and from today, they are already available in more than 150 countries for the Facebook applications on iOS and Android.
As part of the launch, the company has introduced a number of new features to give content creators more tools to produce new videos. In the coming months we will see the Remix feature, which allows you to create a reel that includes another reel that has already been published. We will also see 60-second reels, since until now they only lasted between 15 and 30 seconds.
Facebook has added the option to save your videos in drafts as well as the option to trim in order to make it easier to edit longer videos in other formats. But this is not all, since the company has wanted to focus on this new tool so that creators can be discovered and can generate more profits.
To do this, they are developing new ways, such as the Reels Play bonus program, which will be seen in the coming months and has been designed to help creators get into the creation of Reels and understand what content works best.
Another of the formats used are in-stream ads that consist of either a semi-transparent ad with a fixed image placed at the bottom of the video or a sticker that the creator can place wherever he wants. The special thing about these ads is that they do not interrupt the video while giving part of the ad revenue to the creator.
Finally, to make sure that Reels reach more audiences in the coming weeks, creators will be able to share their videos in stories, they will also be visible in the Watch tab and at the top of the Feed. Additionally, Instagram creators will be able to share their Reels from one app to another.
With these updates, Facebook has shown what is going to be the way forward in social networks, more and more videos and less text.
